Next weekend Cree and are are going to finish moving into a house we affectionately call the "White House" because its street address is 1603 while the actual White House is 1600 - and it's a big white house (with blue trim).

Tips for living small

Believe it or not, I wasn't always the mildly successful, Subaru-driving, lower-middle-class, worker bee I am today. I was a full time college student once, and had a few periods where I lived in desperately small spaces.

It was good for me though. In fact one of those spaces made me the tidy, organized fellow I find myself today.

I've been working over the last few hours on a good coat of lacquer on my new work bench, and it's brought out a whole new level of wonderful in it.

There's also a stencil in the middle, from a stencil I made a really long time ago. It might have even been as long ago as high school. The stencil just kind of appeared the night before last, in a pile of my old artwork that I was going through for posterity.

I turned my porch into a real, nice workspace today.

It used to do little aside from accumulating clutter and getting really hot from the sun, but now it's lovely, and full of a full 24 square feet of work area. There's also room on a shelf above the desk for some unfiltered sunlight and a handful of house plants.
